The Youth Symphonic Orchestra of the V.A. Uspensky Republican Specialised Music School (Tashkent, Uzbekistan)
The Youth Symphonic Orchestra of the V.A. Uspensky Republican Specialised Music School is one of the most interesting youth musical ensembles in Uzbekistan. It is the only creative group in the country awarded the State Prize "Nihol" by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The award was granted to the orchestra in 2007 in recognition of the talent of the young performers, their creative activity, and their significant role in the musical and social life of the country.
The Symphonic Orchestra at the Uspensky School was established in the late 1940s and has become an excellent educational foundation for training young musicians – both orchestral performers and conductors. Throughout its almost 80-year history, the ensemble has been led by outstanding musicians such as I.I. Shteyn; V.A. Belenkiy, Honored Mentor of Youth of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Professor V.B. Neymer, Honored Artist of Uzbekistan; and B.K. Rasulov. Currently, the artistic director and chief conductor is the remarkable musician Ulugbek Mahmudov.
