Batyrzhan Smakov Kazakhstan
Countertenor Batyrzhan Smakov has captivated audiences in many countries including Russia, Italy, France, Poland, Egypt, Jordan, United Arab Emirates. Batyrzhan is a prize winner of the "Grand Prix of Saint-Petersburg" in Russia, and "Concorso della Musica Sacra" in Turin, Italy. He was featured in numerous productions including J. Offenbach “Les contes H”Offmann”, A. Scarlatti “Passione del Nostro Signore Gesù Cristo”, Mascagli “Cavalleria rusticana”, “Tancredi”, Concert for UNICEF, etc. In 2016, received the title of Artist for Peace UNESCO after performing numerous charitable concerts to support children of Syria.
Batyrzhan Smakov is often invited to adjudicate international competitions in Kazakhstan, Italy, and UAE. Currently, he serves as faculty member at the Kazakh National University of Arts, Music Director of Mixed Choir at KazNUA, soloist at Kazakhkonzert, and guest conductor of “Coro lirico Perla Verde” in Italy. He has recorded four solo albums.
Batyrzhan Smakov completed his education at the Kazakh National Academy of Music, International Academy of Opera in Osimo, Italy, and completed his master's degree at the Rossini Conservatory in Pesaro, Italy.
