MECMA Academy 2025 Welcomes Kazakh State Symphony Orchestra as Orchestra in Residence

As the Middle East Classical Music Academy (MECMA) returns to Dubai in April 2025 for its fourth edition, the Academy is delighted to announce the Kazakh State Symphony Orchestra as its orchestra in residence. Renowned for their virtuosic performances and diverse repertoire, the orchestra will play a central role in this highly anticipated event, supporting MECMA’s mission to nurture the next generation of classical music talent.
The Kazakh State Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1991 under the visionary leadership of celebrated violinist Aiman Musakhadzhayeva, has become a cornerstone of Kazakhstan's musical culture. Comprising 90 accomplished musicians, the orchestra’s repertoire spans baroque, classical, romantic, and contemporary works, including both international masterpieces and the unique musical traditions of Kazakhstan. Their collaborations with world-class artists and conductors have cemented their reputation as one of the most dynamic ensembles in the global classical music scene.
Throughout MECMA 2025, the orchestra will perform in a series of concerts that will spotlight both their artistry and the talents of MECMA’s young musicians, offering attendees a rare opportunity to share the stage with an ensemble of this caliber.
MECMA’s fourth edition, running from April 6 to 21, 2025, promises to be its most ambitious yet, featuring an extensive program of masterclasses in instruments ranging from violin to bassoon and piano. The Academy will also include daytime concert series where the best students will perform alongside esteemed soloists and the Kazakh State Symphony Orchestra.
