MECMA Presents Violin Masterclass with Sergei Dogadin

The 2024 Middle East Classical Music Academy continued on Sunday 4th February, with attention turning to the violin students in the cohort for the day, most notably the Eurasian Violin Ensemble from the Eurasian Symphony Orchestra.

Assembling together at the Sky Zayed Hall in the Two Seasons hotel, the ensemble were treated to a masterclass led by no other than Sergei Dogadin, the Winner of the IX Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition in Hannover and Singapore International Violin Competition; and First Prize and Golden Medal recipient at the XVI International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow.

The acclaimed maestro led an extensive and enriching session, dissecting the intricacies of technique, expression, and musical interpretation, as he imparted valuable insights to each of the students during the short time that they had together.

MECMA 2024 will continue on the 5th of February, which shall be a very special day since it will mark the launch of the Academy's concert series, with a performance featuring Sergei Dogadin himself, as well as conductor Mikhail Kirchhoff and the Eurasian Symphony Orchestra, taking place at the Zabeel Theater in Dubai.
