Orchestral Section Leaders to Lead Courses at MECMA 2025

With a schedule of classes, lectures and seminars that encompasses a vast variety of instruments and ensembles, the 2025 Middle East Classical Music Academy is already shaping up to be the biggest and most ambitious entry within its short yet rich history, with more students than ever before getting the chance to learn from the unmatched abilities and experiences of some of the best musical minds of our time.

The first list of confirmed professors for the Academy has already been released, featuring a host of celebrated artists and pedagogues from all four corners of the globe, but now organisers are proud to confirm that this star-studded roster is also set to include a number of section leaders from no fewer than two internationally-renowned symphonic orchestras – the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Franz Schubert Filharmonia

Bringing with them a wealth of experience and expertise, each of these section leaders shall be leading masterclasses and seminars where they will not only be sharing their knowledge of their instruments, but crucially, guiding students on the intricacies of ensemble performance, and what is required to play on stage with other musicians as well as lead a group to perform as a single unit.

By offering such a degree of variety in its teaching cohort, MECMA 2025 is aiming to provide attendees with as rounded an education as possible, with each professor offering a new angle on what it means to be a real-world professional musician in the 21st century.
