Sixth Day of MECMA Sees Flautist Tony Robb Leading Masterclass

On Tuesday 6th February, the 2024 Middle East Classical Music Academy presented an open masterclass for flute practitioners that was led by the acclaimed flautist Tony Robb.

With years of experience at the highest echelons of the music world under his belt, Robb, who currently performs with the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra, is perfectly placed to pass on his knowledge and skills to the next generation, and the students who flocked to the Sky Zayed Hall at the Two Seasons hotel eagerly listened to his every word, before engaging in a number of one-to-one exercise with the maestro himself.

In addition, the Academy also welcomed the second day of its violin competition, with the final group of young violinists showcasing their skillset and newfound knowledge in front of their peers as well as a distinguished jury board.

The 2024 Middle East Classical Music Academy shall not return tomorrow with a stunning concert headlined by violinist Nikita Boriso-Glebsky and violist Andrey Usov, that will be taking place at the Zabeel Theatre in the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray hotel.
