Shuichi <br>Kawata — Middle East Classical Music Academy-2025

Shuichi Kawata was born in Fukushima Prefecture in 1984. He was awarded the Yatabe Prize at Kunitachi College of Music, graduating at the top of the College. He was selected for the 78th and 81st Japan Music Competition in the trumpet section. He won the 3rd prize in the trumpet section of the 25th Japan Winds and Percussion Competition. He was awarded the Diploma Prize at the 49th International Instrumental Music Competition in Markneukirchen, Germany. From 2015 to ʼ16he trained at the Karlsruhe College of Music, Germany, as an overseas trainee for emerging artists by the Agency for Cultural Affairs. He has studied with Hitoshi Kumagai and Eisuke Yamamoto at Kunitachi College of Music, Reinhold Friedrich at Karlsruhe College of Music, and Genzo Kitamura and Hiro Noguchi in private lessons. Since 2017, he has been Principal Trumpet of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. He is a part-time lecturer at Musashino Academia Musicae and music school “Da Capo”.
