Bassoon

Born in Gero City (Kosaka Town), Gifu Prefecture, Mori began playing the bassoon at the age of 15. He graduated from Gifu Hida High School and Musashino Academia Musicae, majoring in bassoon. Upon graduation, he joined the Shinsei Nippon Symphony Orchestra and has been a member of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra since 1993. He has studied bassoon under Seiko Watanabe, Koji Okazaki, Kaoru Yamahata, Gerald Corey, and Milan Turkovic. In 1992, while still a university student, he won third prize in the bassoon division of the 9th Japan Winds and Percussion Competition. In 2006, he performed Mozart's bassoon concerto with the Hida Takayama Virtuoso Orchestra. In addition to orchestral performances,he is active in chamber music and solo performances throughout Japan.
